Privacy Policy
The Follower for iPhone and Android · Effective 28 September 2026
This policy explains what the The Follower app (the "App") keeps on your device, what it sends to the service providers it uses, and what you can do about it. The App is made by Bunyamin Erdem Yahsi (the "Developer", "we"). Contact: beyahsi06@gmail.com.
1. How the App works
You sign in on Instagram's own login page inside the App. Your password is typed only into Instagram's page and is never sent to us. After you sign in, the App reads the information it shows (your profile, your followers and following, likes, comments, posts and stories) from that signed-in Instagram session, on your device. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.
2. What stays on your device
The following is stored only on your device and is not sent to us or to our service providers:
- your Instagram session (cookies) used to read your data;
- follower and following lists, likers, commenters, story viewers and other lists about other accounts;
- your check-up history, your Watchlist and your recent searches;
- posts and stories you open, and anything you choose to save to your Photos;
- data shown in the App's widgets, kept in an on-device container shared only between the App and its widgets (counts and times, no names or photos);
- questions you ask in "Ask about your numbers" and the answers (see section 5).
3. What we collect and why
| Data | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your Instagram account's email address and phone number (if the account has them) | RevenueCat; Airbridge (hashed on your device before sending) | Link purchases to you, support and restore purchases, measure which ads brought you to the App |
| Your Instagram username, full name and follower and following counts | RevenueCat | Support and purchase records |
| An app-generated device identifier and an account identifier created from it | Firebase Authentication, RevenueCat, OneSignal, Airbridge | Keep your purchases and settings tied to this installation |
| Purchase and subscription history | Apple / Google, RevenueCat | Provide Pro, restore purchases, measure sales |
| Usage events (for example which screens you open) and crash reports | Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics | Understand how the App is used, fix crashes |
| Push notification token | OneSignal | Send notifications, which you can turn off in your device settings |
| Advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking) and the Apple Search Ads attribution token | Airbridge, RevenueCat | Measure which ads brought you to the App |
| Web purchase codes (only if you buy Pro on our website) | Our purchase-linking service on Google Cloud, RevenueCat, Stripe | Unlock a purchase made on the web in the App |
On iPhone, the Google Analytics for Firebase SDK also uses a hashed form of your email address and phone number on your device to measure Google Ads conversions.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not collect your precise location. Your follower and following lists and other people's data are not sent to us.
4. Service providers
We use these providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy and our agreements with it:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Hosting) and Google Cloud — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat (purchases) — revenuecat.com/privacy
- Stripe (web purchases only) — stripe.com/privacy
- OneSignal (notifications) — onesignal.com/privacy_policy
- Airbridge (ad attribution) — airbridge.io/privacy-policy
- Apple and Google (app stores and payments)
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
5. "Ask about your numbers" (Apple Intelligence)
On supported iPhones with Apple Intelligence turned on, you can ask short questions about the counts from your own latest check-up. Answers are made on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Your questions and the answers are not sent to us or to any third party, and they are not used for analytics. You can turn the feature off in Settings › AI answers.
6. Tracking and your choices
- Tracking (iPhone): the App asks for permission before using your advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
- AI answers: turn them off in the App under Settings › AI answers.
7. How long we keep data
- On your device: until you sign out, use Delete my data, or uninstall the App.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Stripe): as long as needed to provide and restore your purchases, and longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
- Analytics events: for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property, at most 14 months.
- Crash reports: about 90 days.
- Push token and attribution data (OneSignal, Airbridge): while the App is in use, then removed according to the provider's retention rules or when you ask us to delete them.
8. Deleting your data
- In the App: Settings › Delete my data removes your check-ups, lists, Watchlist, recent searches, widget data and the Instagram session from your device, and signs you out of purchases and notifications on this device.
- Data held by our providers (RevenueCat, Firebase, OneSignal, Airbridge): email beyahsi06@gmail.com from the address you want deleted or with your Instagram username, and we will delete it within 30 days.
- Deleting data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play settings.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and object to or restrict its use. Email us to use these rights. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
10. Children
The App is not meant for children under 13, the minimum age for Instagram. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we limit what we collect to what the App needs.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above.
